Karim Nazer, MD

Dr. Karim Nazer is a board-certified internal medicine and infectious disease physician with more than 30 years of experience diagnosing and treating complex infections. He cares for patients with respiratory infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, osteomyelitis, complicated urinary tract infections and resistant or unusual infections. Dr. Nazer also specializes in antibiotic therapy, travel medicine, care for immunocompromised patients, infection prevention and Mycobacterium Avium Complex therapy. Fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, he helps patients navigate complex medical conditions with personalized, evidence-based care. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He completed his internship and residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, additional residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois. He also completed graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
