Medical Weight Loss
A Healthier Future Starts with Obesity Care
Medical weight-loss to help you take control of your health
Obesity is a complex medical condition – not a personal failure. For many, lasting weight loss feels out of reach. But evidence‑based obesity care is a powerful tool to help. Obesity affects more than weight alone. It can contribute to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, joint pain, sleep issues and depression. With the right medical care, many of these conditions can improve or resolve.
FryeCare Medical Weight Loss uses a full range of treatment options, including FDA‑approved medications and lifestyle support. Our goal is to help you feel better, move easier, live healthier and take control of your health.

Goals for Long-Term Health
Successful weight management is a collaborative process. During your care, we’ll work together to set realistic, personalized goals that support your long-term health. This process focuses on improving nutrition, supporting your metabolism, increasing movement and addressing biological factors that make weight loss challenging.
Our Goals for Treatment
Our program focuses on improving your overall health – not just the number on the scale. Your care plan may include goals to help you:
- Improve nutrition and reduce highly processed foods
- Support a healthier gut microbiome
- Increase physical activity in ways that fit your lifestyle
- Build healthier thought patterns around food, meal planning and meal prep
- Reduce inflammation
- Reach a healthy weight for your body
- Improve heart health and metabolism
- Reduce your risk of cancer and diabetes
- Support joint health and decrease pain
Helping You Set Treatment Goals
Every patient comes to us with different challenges, strengths and motivations. One of the most important parts of your care is identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. Setting goals gives you direction, helps you track progress and keeps you connected to the “why” behind your journey. Whether your goals are related to health, confidence, mobility or quality of life, we’ll help you put them into clear, actionable steps.
Together, we’ll define:
Nutrition Goals
What changes feel realistic right now – reducing processed foods, increasing whole foods, planning meals?
Movement Goals
What activity goals would fit your abilities and interests – more daily steps, low-impact exercise, strength training?
Behavior Goals
What things do you want to make a daily habit – mindful eating, managing stress, improving sleep?
Lifestyle Goals
Why do you want to pursue weight loss, and how could it improve your life? Do you want to:
- Walk comfortably on vacation
- Run a 5K with a family member
- Sit easily in an airplane seat
- Skydive or try new activities
Tracking What Matters to You
You may choose to use an app or notebook to track your progress in nutrition, activity, body measurements or emotions. These tools can be helpful in the first few months as you build new habits.
If you enjoy structure or community support, you may also benefit from evidence-based resources, such as activity apps, recipe tools or support groups like TOPS (Taking Pounds Off Sensibly). TOPS offers both in-person and online meetings, along with practical tools to help you stay on track.
Medical Weight Loss
If you and your provider decide that medication is part of your treatment plan, we will begin the initial steps required to start that therapy. Some medications require additional information or documentation before they can be processed. This part can take time, but we will work to get you the medication you need and keep you informed along the way.
A Note About Safety
We do not prescribe compounded weight-loss medications. The safety and effectiveness of compounded versions are a concern, and we do not want you to waste money on products that may not work or cause harm. Your safety and long-term success are our priority.
We prescribe only brand-name, FDA-approved medications, such as Wegovy® (semaglutide), and upcoming oral formulations, like Orforglipron. These medications are safely and effectively absorbed by the body. GLP‑1 medications work by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone that helps control appetite and support healthy blood sugar levels. We are watching expectantly for upcoming weight loss medications.
Insurance Coverage Overview
Understanding insurance coverage for obesity treatment can feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to figure it out alone. We will guide you through the process, so you know what is covered, what to expect and how to take the next steps in your care.
Many health insurance plans, including Medicare and most Medicaid plans, cover medical weight loss. Our insurance coordinators offer financial counseling and insurance coverage information. Some out-of-pocket expenses include co-pays for physician office visits and tests needed to verify health status prior to treatment.
