FryeCare Physicians Network welcomes Brooke Linens, DNP, to its internal medicine team. Linens is now accepting adult and geriatric patients at FryeCare Nephrology and Internal Medicine, located at 1344 N. Center St. Suite A, Hickory, N.C. Same-week appointments are available. To schedule, call 828.326.8888 or visit online at FryeCarePhysicians.com/find-a-doctor/.
A highly trained and compassionate health care provider, Linens brings more than seven years of clinical experience to her new role. She provides preventive care, annual physicals, chronic disease management, including diabetes and hypertension, acute illness treatment and comprehensive medication reviews to help patients meet their long-term wellness goals.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Linens served as a registered nurse in high-acuity cardiac care at UNC Health Blue Ridge, where she managed patient cases, led emergency response efforts, trained staff and served as both charge nurse and interim clinical educator. Her clinical background also includes surgical, medical, orthopedic and rehabilitative care settings.
A native of North Carolina, Linens earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, where she completed more than 660 clinical hours in specialties such as family health, cardiology, pediatrics and women’s health. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Appalachian State University in Boone.
“Becoming a nurse practitioner has always been about more than treating illness,” said Linens. “It’s about forming meaningful relationships with patients and helping them take charge of their health. I’m honored to join this practice where I can serve the Hickory community with compassionate, evidence-based care.”
Recognized for clinical excellence, Linens has been nominated twice for the Daisy Award, a national recognition program that honors extraordinary nurses for the compassionate, skillful and patient-centered care they provide. In 2024, she received the Above and Beyond Preceptor Award for her mentorship of nursing students.
