Dr. Mayl holds certifications in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography. His patient-centered philosophy emphasizes empathy, open communication and evidence-based care. He specializes in advanced, minimally invasive procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI/TAVR), mitral valve repair for regurgitation and closure techniques for conditions such as patent foramen ovale (PFO) and the left atrial appendage—procedures designed to reduce stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation. He also performs cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, stenting, coronary atherectomy and intravascular imaging.
A native of Florida, Dr. Mayl earned his Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the University of South Florida in Tampa and his medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando. He completed his internship, residency and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C.
